3 Mistakes Businesses Make With Digital Marketing

Digital Marketing can be complicated. Especially when just starting out. It can be difficult to know how to go about implementing and running digital marketing campaigns. In this article I'm going to share with you three mistakes that businesses make with their digital marketing. If you avoid these mistakes you will be ahead of many businesses who are currently running digital marketing campaigns.  

Mistake 1: Creating and writing your ad copy inside of the application/platform you are running the advertisement on.
When writing your ad copy make sure that you write the headline and body in a separate document like Word or Google Docs.  This will help you avoid making mistakes. Then you can just copy and past your ad copy into the platform you are running your digital marketing on.

Mistake 2: Running one ad.
I see this a lot with small businesses and those with small budgets. This is a huge mistake because you are not able to test and improve upon your results. Make sure that you run at least two ads and make them the exact same only changing one variable. This will allow you to test. You can then see which of your ads are producing ROI and which are not. Once you figure out what ads work best you can duplicate them and discard the unsuccessful ones. If you are currently running only one ad, make sure you add another or just stop completely because running one ad at a time is just like throwing money in the trash.

Mistake 3: Not consistent.
A business that spends $2,500 every month every single year on their digital marketing will do better than a business that spends $30,000 for only three months. Being consistent is crucial to your businesses success with digital marketing. Those who are consistent know what works. They have more information about their customers. They have an edge over almost any competitor who has not been as consistent with their digital marketing. Now if you are one of those businesses who run digital marketing campaigns very inconsistently I would recommend spreading your advertising budget throughout the year so that you can stay consistent. It will do wonders for your business.

Try to avoid these three mistakes and you will be on your way to becoming a pro with your digital marketing. Remember stay consistent, run multiple ads always, and make sure write your ad copy in a different location than the platform you are advertising on.
